We stare

We stare at each other with great ardor,
As the days keep passing by,
And we realize it is only getting harder and harder.
Our feelings are pleading out they do not want to lie,

But we tape their mouths shut,
Because we cannot bare to hear them cry.
Every goodbye just creates a new cut,
That builds upon my heart.

Yet it still manages to smile,
Though the future will eventually rip us apart.
Our minds refuse to grasp what lies ahead of you and I,
But we both know it is obvious to the eye,

That what will happen is inevitable,
And it will lead to a sullen sigh.
We will fight it,
And try to make it bend,

Yet time will continue on,
And we will eventually have to give in.
Goodbye to you my Darling for time has run out,
And we have fatally grown thin.

  1. Hope you don't mind, I read your poem. Hope this one puts a more positive light on things :)

The light looks into the dark, and wonders
    But the answer is clear
For the might displayed in thunder
    Is always quite near

    To understand the daytime
    the nighttime must be seen
For what is land, even mine
were it not for the sea?

And what is comfort, without risk?
How can growth come with no pain?

The beauty of a new smile is kept for a second
but the depth grows after each loss

So how can the soul find it's way?
Man finds his path by day, looking up to the Sun
and she finds her way at night by charting the stars

At daybreak, the soul finds it's path by following curiosities
and in the night, returns home, chasing desires.

But what as to time? You ask.
Time can look after itself. You must
    keep yourself in motion
    and Time cannot catch up
But as soon as you worry about the future
    Time has passed you by
